Born from legacy, not trend.
Jackie helped shape some of the world’s most recognizable brands guiding design, curating product, and setting vision. Her path lead through showrooms, strategy sessions, and factories around the globe. Each step brought her closer to building something of her own.
She was always searching for ways to stay rooted in the place her story began.
While helping repair oriental rugs for her Sedo, she realized the gap she sought to fill. It lived in every embroidery stitched by the matriarchs of her lineage, the scent of spices in the kitchen, dancing to the rhythm of the tabla, and stories passed down through generations. The connection lived in celebration.
So she built Kouris.
A bridge between diaspora and homeland.
Design as preservation.
Storytelling as resistance.
Because to be Palestinian today is to inherit a history often silenced. KOURIS was founded to make sure it’s shared and worn with pride.
Rooted in heritage, vision, and the drive to tell our story on our terms.
KOURIS was founded in 2024 in Brooklyn, New York, with a clear purpose: to honor and unite a diaspora.
Each design embodies resilience, freedom, and hope, modern expressions of a shared heritage that connects us across borders.
All artwork is hand-drawn by our founder, modernizing traditional tatreez into wearable art.
Tatreez /taṭrīz/, /تَطْرِيز,/
noun
A centuries-old Palestinian embroidery technique in which every stitch carries stories, symbols, and identity, celebrating lineage, geography, and history.
We partner with Palestinian-owned businesses throughout the diaspora, ensuring every piece creates opportunity at its origin. Every garment is crafted from premium fabrics with intention and care designed for both the everyday and the meaningful moments alike.
KOURIS was created to celebrate heritage transforming legacy into wearable resistance, each piece a living story.
